GOLD I is our first advanced training group. Swimmers 11 and up are eligible for this program. Refinement of strokes continues and a greater focus is put on racing and race strategies. Swimmers progress and move forward with an increase in volume and intensity during each workout.
A dry land program will be offered to this training group. The focus of this dry land program is to improve each athlete’s flexibility and core strength.
Swimmers in the GOLD I program are expected to participate in all ESSL TEAM MEETS as well as, all home US Meets. Swimmers are required to attend at least 3 away USS Meets and 2 Championship Meets each season.
GOLD I REQUIREMENTS AND GOALS
GOLD II is our highest level training group. Athletes ages 13 and up are eligible for this program. Emphasis is placed on advanced energy zone training, advanced stroke mechanics, race planning and strategies, goal setting, nutrition and mental conditioning.
Swimmers must be physically and mentally prepared to commit to consistent, higher training year round, from September till August.
Continuation of stroke technique and a focus on endurance, speed and power.
Swimmers in the GOLD II program are expected to participate in all ESSL TEAM MEETS as well as, all home US Meets. Swimmers are required to attend at least 4 away USS Meets and 3 Championship Meets each season.
